Patrick Carlson is a cartoonist and illustrator based in Valdosta, Georgia, with over 30 years of experience in the field. His passion for drawing began in his childhood during the 1970s, inspired by Saturday morning cartoons and Sunday comic strips. He spent hours replicating classic characters like Garfield, Snoopy, and Bugs Bunny, and creating his own comic strips.
In the early 1990s, as the internet began to impact traditional newspaper comics, Carlson shifted his career path. He worked with children and teens in church settings and later taught middle school social studies. Despite these roles, his passion for cartooning persisted. By 2004, he transitioned to freelancing, taking on projects involving cartoons, illustrations, logos, and mascots. Eventually, he ventured into children's book illustrations, collaborating with self-published authors worldwide. He has also authored several children's books, including "What Good Is A Dragon?" and "Bella the Blue Crab."
Carlson's work often features mascot rivalry art, reflecting his interest in sports team mascots. His illustrations are available for purchase on platforms like Etsy.
